Prints 2016-2017      Diploma Thesis

   The concept of art or rather that of art making in general is the principal pivot of this work. Everything that has already found its way into art - ideas, concepts and forms alike - as well as everyday life and personal thoughts defined my process and objective. In these pictures truth, lies, historical documents, dreams and fantasies are reduced to equal information, the connection of which creates new realities.

   The printmaking tradition, history and process of producing pictures formed my style and thought to a great extent. Printing from the same plates, re-working them or combining them with each other in order to come up with new pictures has been of great interest to me.

​

   The collection, classification and editing of the material is no historical analysis and interpretation but a personal one. In a nutshell, an exercise in style.

    This set of prints, done in the years 2016-2017, sumps up the core of my degree show at the Faculty of Visual and Applied Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and was presented as my diploma thesis in the summer of 2017. A number of the prints were made with the assistance of printmaker Elena Lamprou.
